Update From Micki Regarding Hurricanes' Impact
(September 25, 2004) Recently, we sent out a request for an update from all of the members of the O-Camp (or our contacts for them) who are Florida residents. We let them know that fans were concerned and hoped everyone was fine. Micki responded to let us know that they (Micki and Mel) were doing fine. They had decided to hunker down and sit out the storms. Sadly, they were not fortunate enough to get the eye of Frances and had damage to their ceiling, roof and fencing, but fared better than many of their neighbors. But now Hurricane Jeanne is upon Florida. We just received this update from Micki:
“I hope all is well with you. As for us we are once again hunkering down to get through Hurricane Jeanne. Please keep us in your prayers as this one apparently is going to be worse than Frances. It's 7 pm and the winds are already bearing down on us, and it's not supposed to make landfall "officially" until 2 am. Please pray for our state, our families and of course our homes. We are all tired, worn out and trying not to be discouraged. Thank you and the rest of the IO team and members for your concern. I hope to go online when this one is finally behind us – hoping, of course, we'll have power to do that. I better go. We keep getting brown outs and I want to make sure I send this. Please let everyone know we appreciate their concerns and thank you all for your prayers.” Discover ways that you can contribute to relief efforts.
