Update From Micki Regarding the Hurricanes' Aftermath
(October 12, 2004) In the midst of their busy schedule of repairs, Micki fulfilled her promise to us to keep us updated by taking a moment to send us this message on how she and Mel weathered Hurricane Jeanne’s siege. While news stories about the recent hurricanes have essentially disappeared from our view, countless victims cannot escape the reality of the hurricanes’ destruction as easily. Please remember the thousands of Florida residents, whose lives are far from routine right now, in your thoughts and prayers. Their days are filled with physically and emotionally exhausting efforts to rebuild not only their homes and lives, but those of their friends, family and neighbors. We sincerely thank Micki for this on-the-scene inside report that reveals what Micki, Mel and thousands of other Florida residents are dealing with now and in the months ahead.

"Sorry it's taken so long to write but, after the last hurricane our power and cable are just not cooperating. Our home sustained more damage after Jeanne and we are in the process of starting to make repairs. We are going to be moving out in a couple of weeks so that our home’s interior can get repaired -- a totally messy job. Our roofing materials won't be here for another 4-6 weeks and then we will be able to start replacing the roof -- another messy job. Fortunately, the weather is getting a little cooler so that helps. We are grateful to God and of course you and all our IO friends for all your prayers."
