O-Town's brief cameo appears about 36 minutes into the film (scene 12), between Whoopi Goldberg and President Bush’s cameos where the film’s star and hero, a character named Kahuna, is utilizing his special communication center to receive the reports of the aforementioned who are supporting Kahuna’s mission to help children. O-Town fans who were disappointed that the Making the Band cameras never made it into the recording studio to see the boys working on O2 will be glad to see that at least this film's movie cameras did! You may recall that Ashley informed us in an interview in May 2003 that the guys bumped into Jon Voight when they were working on O2 in Santa Monica. This movie was being filmed at the time and Jon asked the guys if they would do a cameo. The guys agreed, so the film crew actually went into the studio where the guys were recording O2 and filmed O-Town’s cameo.

Although O-Town’s cameo is brief, fans will most likely find it quite enjoyable. Seeing this appearance is certain to bring to mind exactly what was so special about O-Town. First of all, they have a special talent for leaning forward and peering into the camera lens in such a way that a viewer cannot help but feel that the guys can actually see their viewers. Many of the other reasons that so many became their devoted fans will come to mind. They’re so handsome, charming, animated, energetic, cute, funny, friendly, eager to please and, last but not least, can sing! After updating the Kahuna on their assignment, they inform him that they are working on a Super Hero Theme Song for him and sing a few bars in their wonderful five-part harmony, “Mr K to the rescue!” It's also fun to open this time capsule and see the way the guys were back in 2002 ... Trevor with the blonde twists, Ashley with the spiked hairstyle, Jacob with dreads that aren't even down to his shoulders yet, Dan with his chin-strap beard and a bandana and Erik with that very, very closely shaved hairstyle. Of course, they're wearing those wonderful campy tee shirts fans enjoyed. For instance, Ashley is wearing his "Happy Camper" shirt.

Admittedly, as one can see by information and reviews on movie sites, this wasn’t a major box office smash nor a movie worthy of film awards. It is best to keep in mind that this movie is definitely aimed to entertain young children with a theme that kids living in a restrictive adult world appreciate … Children having the power, courage and wisdom to foil the bad guys … sometimes in spite of unknowing grown-ups.
