Whether they had heard Jeff & Justin’s interview in the morning show on San Diego’s KHTS Channel 933 morning show, won tickets from that radio station or had learned of the engagement from the many loyal fan sites, the news was out! The boys were back in town! A line of attractive young ladies dressed to party had started to form even before the doors opened.

The air of anticipation intensified as the girls found places in front of the stage and realized that they were within hands’ reach of the performers. While the audience was made up mostly of girls in their late teens and early 20s, I noticed that there were some younger teens, older women and a few guys were there, too!

The handsome and charming Michael Copon (Felix on One Tree Hill), who is the evening’s host on this tour, took the stage to greet the excited ladies and introduce them to Justin James.

This good looking blonde mentioned to the audience how short the summers are in his hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota. His golden tan tells me that he must be touring to a lot of sunny places! Justin has worked with numerous producers and writers, including Aaron Accetta (LFO, Natural, Aaron Carter, Nick Carter, Jordan Knight). If you remember enjoying those artists, you most likely will take pleasure in Justin’s time with you. Justin was the perfect guy to get the party started. He is an engaging performer who quickly discovered, just as the ladies had earlier, that he was within hand’s reach of the audience. He wasted no time in getting down to serenade the ladies while tenderly grasping their outstretched hands. He even jumped off the stage to briefly enjoy eye-level contact with the attentive women hoping to get even closer to him. The evening had just begun and everyone was already having fun!

After Justin’s set, Michael returned to introduce Dan’s set. He asked the crowd if there was someone in the audience who could sing an O-Town song. Michael scanned the number of girls who had raised their hands and then held the mic out to one of the volunteers. She sang a chorus of a favorite with O-Town fans, “We Fit Together,” and the audience cheered.

This show reminded me more of a party. But instead of the partygoers moving from room to room to find out who is there and what the scene is, the room and its vibe comes to you each time that Michael comes out and introduces you to another performer.

Dan strolled onto the stage with a round of applause and cheers. At that moment, it was hard to believe that almost two years have passed since O-Town’s final performance at the Hard Rock Café in Orlando. All of the characteristics that endeared O-Town fans to Dan were still there.

During O-Town’s years, fans had realized that unlike the custom-tailored coordinated outfits some boy bands wore for shows, O-Town would do their appearances in plain ol’ tee shirts and jeans. True to the start of their careers, it always seemed like these boys had just stepped off of their small hometown main streets and onto the stage.

Here was Dan again, with his trademark low-slung gravity-defying loose and worn jeans. How on earth do those things stay up? He is obviously still in great shape. Also present was another trademark of Dan’s, a vintage style tee shirt with a message. The barely visible message on the vintage shirt, which read, “Just Hangin’ Out,” said it so well! To top things off, Dan was wearing a gray cap and had a toothpick in his mouth! I could see longer curls of his dark brunette hair peeking out from beneath the back of his cap. More than one fan has mentioned liking the longer locks at the back of his neck.
