The event’s focus was definitely on children, young adults and those launching new or different careers in entertainment. While the proceeds from this showcase go to Make A Wish Foundation to help needy children’s dreams come true, perhaps the dreams of these new artists and their fans will come true too if label executives decide to invest in their talent. The announcer introduced Trevor to the press and the photographers’ cameras flashed like the finale of a Fourth of July fireworks display! KIIS and Music Plus TV conducted video interviews with Trevor on the red carpet while Doris, Clif and I looked on happily amused by the media attention Trevor was receiving.

Then an IO member named Amanda came up to me and once she had confirmed who I was, she introduced herself and told me that she had come with her friends from Denver. Amanda and her friend Michelle hoped to meet Doris. I told them that I would be happy to introduce them to her. I went further down the line and found more IO members. Francine, Angelica and their two friends had come in from the Ventura area. Francine had a photo she had taken at CFTC a year or two ago, when she had gone to Miami for that event. I told her that I’d be happy to get it personalized for her and return it to her after the show.

Then Debbie and I made our way into the venue to cover the show. By this time, it was after 6:00, the doors had already opened and the show had started. The crowd was already fairly well packed around the stage. While Debbie was trying to find a good place to shoot, I found Amanda and Michelle and introduced them to Doris. Debbie came back to me and, since she couldn’t find any good spots on the floor, suggested that we try to shoot the show from upstairs. Fortunately, Debbie and I managed to get spots with an unobstructed view of the stage.

As time passed, Debbie and I were wondering just when Trevor would arrive. Finally, we spotted Trevor's parents Clif and Doris arriving. We asked Doris where Trevor was and she said he was right behind her. Several of Trevor’s devoted fans happened upon the red carpet arrival event just as Trevor arrived. They were so happy about their lucky encounter with Trevor and Debbie captured the happy moment with her camera.
