LUCKY FAN WINS TRIP TO "O2" CD RELEASE
PARTY
Brittany Buzzini, 14, an O-Town fan
from California, got the surprise of her life in early November when she won
a contest to attend the "O2" release party in New York. Here is
her story in her own words.
"Hi, My name is Brittany Buzzini. I am 14
years old and I live in San Jose, CA. This is the story of the most wonderful
trip and time of my life. On November 5, 2002, my step-father received an
e-mail from one of the executives at J records. To me, it was just an ordinary
day. I let him get on (the computer) to check his mail after I went on to
check up on any new O-Town info. I was sort of bummed out because o-town.com
had just released the winners of the people who got to go to the LA listening
party and I was not one of them. Who knew that I would be even more lucky
than that!
Anyway, my step-dad gets on and calls me into the room asking me if I entered
anyone in this O-Town contest to go to New York. I told him "Yeah, I
entered you, me, and mom, it is to go to their record-release party in NY,
but it doesn't really matter because I know I didn't win, why?" He said,"Well
you won..." At that very second, it felt like my heart just went on a
roller coaster ride and landed in my throat. I didn't believe it. I told him:
"There is no way I could have won, there is like a one in a million chance
you could win a contest like that, all of their fans enter, there is absolutely
no way I could have won, it must be some cruel prank."
Well......it wasn't. The letter was sent by a J Records staff member. This
letter said that we had won two tickets to NY to stay in a 5 star hotel and
two passes to O-Town's record release party in NYC and I would get to actually
meet them. I literally fell on the floor and started crying. I could not believe
it. I was going to meet O-Town, my idols, my loves, the 5 guys I listen to
in my CD player praying that one day one of them would come knocking on my
door. Not to mention I was going to NYC!!!!
So, on Monday, November 11, the day before the party, a limo arrived at our
house to take us to the airport. Although the flight was 5 hours long, I didn't
care, because I was going to New York to meet O-Town! We got there at 9:00,
had dinner, walked around a bit, and then went to bed to get ready for the
next, best day of my life!
On Tuesday, November 12, we walked around for 8 hours (and got the new O-Town
CD of course) and went back to get ready at 7:00 pm. I put on my brand new
outfit just for them and we headed to the Lotus Club.
When we got there, even though they were not out
yet, the atmosphere of it all excited me. At around 9:45 they came out. Of
course I got first row, and when they sang "These Are The Days"
and "From The Damage" I was right there with them. And, since I
had already heard the songs, I was singing along with them and when Erik saw
me he came up to me, held my hand and said that he couldn't believe what a
great fan I was, Jacob kept looking at me and smiling, Trevor touched my hand
and said hi, Ashley was just beautiful and perfect like always but close up
so I could actually see his face, expressions, smile, etc., and Dan well,
was just Dan, beautiful and all.
