JLO: We've all heard samples of the music JL
can create. What kind of songs can we expect on your album? Are they going
to have the same feel as, say, "Devil" and "Whiskey Callin'"?
Jacob: We are trying to mix it up. There is a clear southern rock,
blues/funk underlining all the songs but we are trying to be creative on the
topics and the production.
JLO: What influences your lyrics to your songs?
Jacob: My life experiences mainly, there are times where I get sick
of that and branch off and write songs for fun and they might not be as autobiographical.
JLO: JL is made up of very unique musicians. Each member seems to have
their own style or flair. Did this help with the formation of Jacob's Loc?
How did the formation of Jacob's Loc come about?
Jacob: A lot of prayer and patience. I was trying to find just the
most creative, unique and talented musicians I could. But also people that
I felt would appreciate and add to the direction of the band.
JLO: If you could have any musician/band do a compilation with you on your
upcoming album, who would you pick and why?
Jacob: Right now my focus is more on standing alone. We would love
to open up for bands and but I think we really need a strong album that would
showcase the band and our individualism first.
JLO: How do you feel about your quickly growing fanbase?
Jacob: We are so excited about recording this record and going on tour.
Our growing fan base only encourages us to work harder. We would like to start
our tour in Germany mainly because of all the love we have been getting. Thank
you!
JLO: How did you feel about going into the recording phase? Did you past
experiences with O-Town make you more wary this time around?
Jacob: I am really looking forward to applying all the techniques I
learned working with the producers of O-Town. Though the style will be a little
different I think the experience will help a lot through the process.
JLO: We've read that you would all love to tour one day. Are you planning
on touring the entire United States, or sticking to the west coast? [from
Nikki]
Jacob: Nikki- we are planning to tour everywhere, we would like to
start in Germany so we are thinking larger than just the States. We are only
doing shows in so cal while we are writing for the album.
JLO: Some fans have been quick to run their mouth on the relationship between
the former members of O-Town. What's your say on all of this? [from Lizzy]
Jacob: Lizzy- As far as I know everyone is doing just fine. There has
never been any problems between any of us and we still continue to keep in
touch.
Thanks again for all of your support and I hope to see you all soon! Peace
and God bless!
JACOBSLOCONLINE would like to take a moment to thank Jacob for kindly taking some time out of his schedule to answer these questions for us. There were other questions for the guys which they were unfortunately unable to answer at the time. Jacob said he'd pass those along, so we can expect those soon I hope! Thanks Jacob! -- JLO Crew
