THE UK's CRAVING FOR O-TOWN IS SATISFIED!
Page 2
At the end we cheered, screamed and applauded the guys to show them that we
appreciated the song. The guys even stopped to sign autographs or shake hands
with people in the crowd; I even got a touch from Jacob. The floor manager
waited for feedback from the sound department who gave the okay and everyone
cheered. I made a comment about them performing the song again and Jacob looked
at me and laughed. Ive also had feedback that the O-Town product manager
from BMG was watching the guys perform too and they were very pleased with
the performance from O-Town and the response the guys received. What a great
return from O-Town!
Friday 24th January O-Town travelled to Belfast to appear on the
500th birthday edition of the Kelly Show one of the most popular and
important entertainment shows in Northern Ireland. The guys performed These
Are The Days and had a quick chat with the shows host, Gerry Kelly,
where Trevor explained that his luggage had been lost during the flight from
London to Belfast and that as a result he had to perform in the pyjamas that
hed been travelling in. Click here

Saturday 25th January The guys had
a well-deserved afternoon off.
Sunday 26th January O-Town travelled to Munich to record a live
performance of These Are The Days for a German television programme
called Rekordfieber to be broadcast on March 15 on ARD.
Monday 27th January O-Town (minus
Trevor, who left Europe for California to make the practice rounds of the
Bob Hope Chrysler Classic golf tournament) travelled to Glasgow for a variety
of radio programme appearances. Inside O-Town board members Gillian and Amy
had the opportunity of meeting O-Town at the studios of Clyde One, a popular
Glasgow radio station. Heres Gillians account of the day:
Just when we were starting to worry that
they weren't coming, Jacob, Ashley, Dan and Erik arrived... fifty minutes
late! Jacob headed straight for the door but when the photographer from the
Daily Record asked him for a photo he made a peace sign and put his arm around
the nearest person, which happened to be me! Then he disappeared inside after
promising to come out and talk to us later and just hearing that voice was
an experience in itself. Despite the fact it was less than ten minutes before
Suzie [the Clyde One lunchtime DJ] was going off the air, Ashley and Dan stopped
to sign autographs until they were eventually told they had to go in "NOW!"
I hadn't seen Erik at all but he was the first to come out after the interview.
The photographer had warned us all to move out of the way so he could take
a group photo but of course when they came out no one did. The photographer
was getting mad and shouting at everyone until Dan, who was being totally
sweet to all the girls crowded around him, turned round and snapped "Look
we're TRYING!" After the group photo they all spent a few minutes signing
autographs and getting photos. I thought that Ashley was exactly like he was
on Making The Band. He seemed to have a lot of time for everyone and was always
the last to leave, having to be dragged away!
Dan was lovely; I liked the fact that he seemed
to genuinely want to talk to the fans and didn't just see it as a photo opportunity.
Erik seemed quieter but looked like he was enjoying himself, just in an understated
way. And I was totally won over by the way he made eye contact and smiled
at everyone. Jacob was...Jacob! He probably was a bit more aloof than the
other guys but not unfriendly. And those eyes. WOW!
The only disappointment was that Trevor couldn't be there but it was still
an amazing experience.
IO board member Amy was also fortunate
enough to be photographed with O-Town for the Daily Record newspaper. Heres
her account of the experience:
Our port of call was the Clyde One studios so we made our way over to
Clydebank. We sat in the car and kept warm till about 1:45 pm, when we joined
the crowd (well...maybe about 20 or so people) since we thought they'd be
there very, very soon !
